Florida is a “no fault” state.
That means it doesn’t matter who is at fault for the car, truck or motorcycle accident; your insurance company will pay your medical bills up to $10,000 dollars and the other party’s insurance company will pay their medical bills up to $10,000 if they are hurt. This is stated in your policy.
Florida law requires you to have PIP (Personal Injury Protection) “no fault’ insurance, which will pay your medical bills up to $10,000 if you are injured in a vehicle accident. You are also required to have “property damage insurance.” The property damage coverage will pay for repairs or replace the other driver’s vehicle.
That’s it!!! Think about what our state is saying here!
You must protect the other person’s car if you cause a vehicle accident in Florida but you don’t have to protect his or her body!
The law requires us to protect cars not people! Who was the rocket scientist who created this law?
You have to carry insurance, and pay your premiums to protect the other driver’s car, but if you seriously injure or kill him or her, you are off the hook? You are not required to buy liability insurance if you hurt someone.
If anyone reading this book thinks that his or her possessions are more important that his or her body, you should NOT order this book!
However, if you feel that it’s vital to protect your body, your spouse’s and your kid’s… order this!
Purchasing the right automobile insurance coverage is not like choosing the right guy to clean your carpet. If you are seriously injured in an accident, whether through your own fault or someone else’s, the right insurance coverage can make all the difference in terms of paying your bills and helping you get back on your feet again. Unfortunately, Florida doesn’t require drivers to carry much insurance, and the minimum coverage will not be adequate if a serious accident occurs. Making sure that Florida drivers have essential information about automobile insurance is so important to us that we offer this book to help Florida drivers understand insurance coverage.
