Unknown Substance Causes Rash Breakout At Broward High School

Wednesday morning, Hazmat crews received a distress call from McArthur High School about a breakout that affected several students and at least two teachers.  Rashes in their abdomen and upper bodies were reported and consistent in all of the victims that were exposed to the unknown substance.

It is believed that the outbreak happened in the 900 building which is located at 6501 Hollywood Blvd.  The source of the unknown substance is not yet known and there is no suspicion of foul play at this time.  The incident is under investigation.

Students and teachers that were affected by the breakout have been quarantined for decontamination.  It is reported that a total of 15 students and two teachers were receiving medical attention for the rashes on their abdomen and upper body.
